The alcoholic podcaster they’re talking about on Doughboys today has to be Dan Harmon right?

I haven't had time to listen to the Malkmus episode in its entirety but I'm eagerly anticipating hearing more about Swearspace.

I liked the malkmus episode a lot
He seemed out of his element but was having a good time + liking the hosts
Like not leaning into the 'engineers are freakin dorks' angle (or even... knowing thats a angle? (like just totally not familiar with the world of ear wolf podcast))
good refreshing ep

What's the deal with Jack Allison it takes too much energy for me to understand why he always seems personally wronged by everything

he works in the entertainment industry and has strong views on its business practices and tends to get in long, drawn out fights with people in the industry with positions of power.
it can be a bit much at times for sure but he's mostly on the right side of these arguments and most of the time the people who argue with him end up looking like bigger jerks than he does

99% of the time it's not about him being personally wronged, he just likes to complain about the status quo. It's hard to call him too self-interested when he's pretty much blown up any shot at a traditional career to be an agitant.
He and Leslie (his co-host on his podcast) can both be abrasive as hell sometimes and they get kind of obsessed with Twitter beefs about stuff they hate (I would be happy to never hear them talk about The Last Jedi again), but their hearts are in the right place. I'm glad they dumped the stupidpol guy from Struggle Session though, because boy is that scene toxic as hell.

Why won’t the Doughboys talk about Bugcon? Cracked me up to hear them bleep it. Maybe they think they’re going to get popped for the $9,200 AmEx bill racked up by Bug’s LLC?

I think Nick Wiger has an ongoing thing going with Bug LLC that is part bit and part lore building, with probably some genuine annoyance mixed in. Maybe going back to the rollout of Bazizio Gaming that put him on the poster and other troll tactics. I’m pretty sure for weeks Bug was advertising appearances by Doughboys, Yusong, and Emma at BugCon and it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s how he found out about it lol. He did show up though to drive a train simulator.

Everyone here watches/listens to JackAM it seems. Have been thinking about getting into it but am I missing something if I don’t watch the live twitch?

The podcast version is sporadic and sometimes updates weeks after the fact, whereas the twitch restream goes up quickly after.
